Beaver Valley Intermediate Unit

School Psychologist

The Beaver Valley Intermediate Unit is seeking a School Psychologist to arrange for assistance in the form of designing assessment procedures that support academic and/or behavioral interventions such as Instructional Support Team (IST), School Age Parents (SAP), Response to Instruction and Interventions (RTII), School-wide Positive Behavior Support (SWPBS), psychological counseling as Related Service (RS), Concussion and School Reentry, Anti-Bullying, Crisis Prevention and Intervention and other pre-referral activities for our local school districts.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Provide consultation and follow-up with the district school staff and administration on the application of psychological principles and knowledge to the curriculum and to the classroom instruction. Participate in the evaluation of district students experiencing significant educational adjustment difficulties, which interfere with expected student development and learning via the Multidisciplinary Evaluation (MDE) process. Provide and follow-up to develop and maintain skills that will enhance an individual district student’s educational performance. Provide consultation and follow-up with parents, district school staff and administrators in regard to the educational and psychological needs of students who have been referred for a Section 504 or special education evaluation.

Minimum Requirements include:

PA Certification as a School Psychologist K-12, required. One year of a supervised internship, required. Masters Degree in School Psychology , required.   • Participate in the assessment of the educational progress and adjustment of eligible district students through periodic reevaluations under 14.25 (f) and 342.25 (1).
  • Create a system of liaison referrals and follow-up with psychological support resources available.
  • Organize, manage, and implement psychological testing.
  • Provide consultation with administration regarding district-wide assessment and program evaluation.
  • Attend IEP meetings/504/evaluation/re-evaluation meetings as requested by districts.
  • Develop and provide staff development activities for administration, professional staff, instructional support staff and parents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Teacher of the Deaf/Hearing Support Teacher

The Beaver Valley Intermediate Unit is seeking a dedicated and experienced Teacher of the Deaf/Hearing Support Teacher to provide specialized instruction and support to students with hearing loss, preschool through high school. This role involves direct student services, collaboration with general education staff, consultative services to school districts, and professional development activities. The ideal candidate is committed to promoting self-advocacy, communication, and academic success for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide direct services to students, including push-in classroom support and individual pull-out sessions, as indicated in students’ IEPs
  • Teach and support development of auditory, language, speechreading, literacy, communication, and self-advocacy skills
  • Promote student self-advocacy and understanding of how hearing loss impacts learning
  • Monitor the use and functionality of hearing aids, cochlear implants, FM systems, and other assistive devices
  • Collaborate with teachers to adapt teaching strategies and recommend classroom modifications and accommodations
  • Conduct in-services for general education staff regarding educating students with hearing loss
  • Provide consultative services to districts regarding the educational, social, and emotional needs of students with hearing loss
  • Collaborate with Educational Audiologists on audiology-related concerns and troubleshoot HAT (Hearing Assistive Technology)
  • Evaluate students for eligibility for Hearing Support services and appropriate service delivery models
  • Develop evaluation reports, re-evaluation reports, and IEPs in compliance with PDE timelines
  • Participate in MDT conferences and ensure compliance with PDE regulations
  • Monitor student progress and submit required progress reports and other mandated documentation
  • Prepare detailed schedules, yearly calendars, and efficient travel routes for service delivery
  • Maintain professional certification requirements, including Act 48 hours, and participate in ongoing professional development
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Minimum Requirements Include: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, required.
  • PA Teaching Certification in Hearing Impaired PK-12, required.
  • Experience working with children with diverse special needs
  • Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to create and adapt lesson plans for individual student needs
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting students' growth and development

About the District:

The Hopewell Area School District is located in the southern portion of Beaver County where it borders Allegheny County and lies approximately twenty miles northwest of Pittsburgh. It consists of three townships: Hopewell, Independence and Raccoon.

The District has an enrollment of approximately 2100 students. The students are divided into three grade configurations: K-4, 5-8 and 9-12. The K-4 population attend neighborhood schools throughout the District. This organization was maintained to reflect the local preference for neighborhood schools. These buildings act as feeders to the centrally located junior high school where grades 5-8 are housed. Finally, the senior high is found approximately one fourth mile from the junior high and accommodates grades 9-12.

The Mt. Lebanon School District is seeking applicants for the position of Permanent Substitute School Counselor at Mt. Lebanon High School during the 2025-2026 school year.

This is a full-time, on-site, temporary vacancy with a start date to be determined but anticipated to be 11/17/25, and extending through the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year.

Permanent Substitute assignments are a full semester in length, and are eligible for a prorated salary based on the degree level daily rate at Step 1 of the teacher salary schedule, with rates starting at $289 per day.
This assignment is also eligible for paid time off in the form of sick and personal days, and individual coverage for health, dental, and vision insurance benefits, with a monthly employee contribution, during the term of the assignment, or a stipend in lieu of benefits.

Network Systems Manager

The Mt. Lebanon School District Technology Department is seeking applicants for the position of Network Systems Manager.

This is a full-time, on-site, 12 month permanent position.

The Network Systems Manager manages all aspects of the physical and virtual network and server infrastructure, serves as a project manager for all projects related to network and systems architecture, manages and directs a team of technology specialists in support of district and departmental priorities, facilitates communication between support staff and the Technology Department, and provides end user support where appropriate

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent combination of technical education and experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in network and systems administration, including configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Industry certifications preferred (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA, Alcatel-Lucent (ALE), VMware, Microsoft, or Google certifications).
  • Demonstrated expertise in computer hardware repair, software configuration, and enterprise-level support.
  • Knowledge of hybrid on-premises and cloud architectures (e.g., VMware, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Experience managing Microsoft Active Directory, Azure AD, and Google Workspace user environments.
  • Familiarity with K-12 school operations strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid PA Driver’s License required
