Core responsibilities include providing a wide range of supportive services for students and academic programming at the secondary level. Examples of expected duties include some of the following:
- Academic counseling, career planning, and social-emotional support
- Assist students in planning for postsecondary options, including higher education, technical training, military and workforce options
- Facilitate and monitor 504 plans and meetings Coordinate and facilitate partnerships for academic programs, including but not limited to, CTC, Dual Enrollment, CHS, Off-Site Academies, etc.
- Provide advocacy and support at education planning meetings (including IEP, GIEP, and SAP)
- Develop student schedules based on individual needs, career objectives, academic history, and the requirements of Act 158
- Other duties may be assigned in collaboration with administration and the counseling department staff.
